Built for reliable production
Norsk Kylling had clear ambitions for its new facility in Orkanger: to build a future-oriented, energy-efficient and highly reliable food production plant, with strong focus on sustainability, animal welfare and operational performance.
For a facility of this scale, stable access to steam is essential. The boiler plant had to support demanding production processes, ensure predictable operation and contribute to Norsk Kylling’s long-term goals.
When selecting a supplier, Norsk Kylling was looking for a long-term partner with technical expertise, relevant experience and the ability to understand their operational needs.
A complete boiler plant
PARAT delivered a complete boiler plant tailored to Norsk Kylling’s operations.
The delivery included a 10 MW, 22 kV, 16 barg PARAT High Voltage Electrode Boiler, a gas-fired steam boiler with a capacity of 8 t/h, and a 12 MW gas-fired hot water boiler.
The system also included a 175 m³ steam accumulator, a 10 m³ degassing tank, a Reverse Osmosis unit, heat exchangers, circulation and feed water pumps, as well as complete installation of pipework and control system.
The electric boiler supplies steam to the factory and serves as the plant’s main boiler, with a gas-fired boiler as backup.
Together, these components form a robust and flexible boiler plant that supports stable operation, efficient production and long-term reliability.

A long-term partnership
For Norsk Kylling, the project was about more than boilers and technical equipment. The company needed a partner who could understand its operation, tailor the solution to its requirements and provide reliable support from planning through to daily operation.
After five years of operation, Norsk Kylling highlights not only the technical performance of the boiler plant, but also the value of having a supplier that takes responsibility, provides consistent follow-up and delivers on its commitments.
“We would without hesitation choose PARAT again.”
