Electric Steam for Borregaard’s Biorefinery in Norway
Parat Halvorsen has been selected to deliver a 30 MW High Voltage Electrode Boiler to Borregaard in Sarpsborg, Norway. The delivery will support high-pressure steam production at one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable biorefineries.
Steam for Advanced Biorefinery Operations
Borregaard operates one of the world’s most advanced and sustainable biorefineries. From its site in Sarpsborg, the company produces biochemicals and biomaterials based on natural, renewable raw materials.
Borregaard’s products are used in many different industries, including agriculture, construction, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food, batteries and biofuels. This type of production depends on reliable industrial infrastructure, including access to stable steam capacity.
The new boiler is designed for operation at 11 kV and 38 barg, with a design pressure of 45 barg. The delivery will provide high-pressure steam capacity for Borregaard’s production processes and form part of the site’s overall steam infrastructure.
