3 MW Electric Boiler to Varma & Vélaverk in Iceland
Parat Halvorsen has been selected by Varma & Vélaverk ehf. to deliver a 3 MW electric hot water boiler for a new heating project in Iceland. The boiler will be supplied to Orkubú Vestfjarða, a utility company in the Westfjords.

CONTINUED COLLABORATION IN ICELAND
The project continues the cooperation between PARAT and Varma & Vélaverk in Iceland. In 2022, Varma & Vélaverk delivered a 3 MW electric steam boiler from PARAT to beverage producer Ölgerðin in Reykjavík.
ELECTRIC HOT WATER BOILER FOR ORKUBÚ VESTFJARÐA
Orkubú Vestfjarða has decades of experience in hydropower and geothermal energy, as well as the distribution and sale of electricity. The company owns and operates power plants, electricity distribution infrastructure, geothermal works and central heating boilers with the necessary distribution systems.
The new delivery consists of a 3 MW low-voltage electric hot water boiler designed for operation at 690 V and 8 (10) barg.

ELECTRIC HEATING SOLUTIONS FOR ICELANDIC ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE
Iceland has long traditions within renewable energy and electrified heating solutions. For a utility company such as Orkubú Vestfjarða, electric boiler technology can form part of a broader energy system that includes power generation, geothermal heating and central heating infrastructure.
Through the collaboration with Varma & Vélaverk, PARAT contributes electric boiler technology to Orkubú Vestfjarða’s heating infrastructure in the Westfjords.
