Clean Energy: Parat Delivers Zero-Emission Boilers to Vattenfall
Parat Halvorsen is proud to announce the successful delivery of three 50 MW IEH Electrode Hot Water Boilers to Vattenfall in the Netherlands. This exciting project marks the beginning of a new collaboration between Parat and one of Europe’s leading energy companies, further reinforcing the growing demand for sustainable and efficient heating solutions.

Sustainable District Heating
The new electrode boilers will be installed at an existing district heating facility operated by Vattenfall near Amsterdam. Due to its proximity to the city, the facility is subject to some of the strictest environmental and pollution regulations in Europe. As traditional fossil-fuel boilers are no longer an option in this area, the IEH Boiler was selected as the perfect solution for the project.
With its zero net emissions, high efficiency, and ability to integrate with the electrical grid, the Parat boiler fully complies with environmental regulations while ensuring stable and reliable heat production. The boiler will also be used for grid regulation, converting surplus renewable electricity into heat for the district heating system. This ensures flexibility and stability in the energy market while supporting the transition to fossil-free energy production.
A Successful Collaboration with Vattenfall
John Olav Jensen, Project Manager at Parat Halvorsen, emphasizes the significance of this delivery:
– This has been a very exciting project for us, working with a new customer like Vattenfall. The collaboration has been smooth, and it’s great to see that our technology aligns well with their sustainability goals.
He further adds:
– We had a good and easy commissioning of these boilers and hope this marks the beginning of a long-term partnership. The demand for flexible, high-capacity heating solutions is increasing, and we are confident that Parat's electrode boiler technology will play a crucial role in the energy transition.

The Ideal Choice for Zero Net Emission
The IEH Electrode Boiler is designed for the future of clean energy. Its ability to operate with zero emissions, quickly adjust to grid demand, and efficiently convert electricity into heat makes it a key technology in the shift towards greener and more sustainable heating solutions.
By choosing Parat’s boilers, Vattenfall is demonstrating a strong commitment to both environmental responsibility and energy efficiency. With growing demand for clean district heating solutions, we continue to be at the front of providing cutting-edge technology for the sustainable energy transition.
We look forward to seeing these boilers commissioned and in operation, playing a crucial role in reducing emissions and stabilizing the energy grid. Parat Halvorsen is excited about potential future collaborations with Vattenfall and other energy providers working towards a cleaner and more efficient energy system.
