Tine upgrades their porridge factory and installs a 4MW Electrode Boiler

The boiler has an operating temperature of 110°C and operating pressure of 2-3 barg. PARAT Halvorsen AS supplies the boiler including the primary pipe-circuit and a complete skid with heat exchanger, primary-pump and water treatment equipment. The boiler was delivered to Tine in December 2016 and will be started up before summer 2017.

TINE Meieriet Tretten is Norways porridge factory No. 1. In November 2016 the production increased with over 25% for both hot and cold porridge from November last year. TINE and Fjordland experience extreme growth, both with regards to their hot and cold porridge types. From 2000 to this year, the porridge production at Tretten has five doubled!

Due to the high growth, it has been a challenge to produce enough even though the production lines runs with maximum capacity. In 2014 the Board decided to invest in a new 4. Production line at Tretten; An investment of 58 MNOK, and another 103 MNOK investment in storage facilities for raw material and finished products. The new building was completed autumn 2016, but already before this they started with another expansion project and invests 104 MNOK at expanded capacity both with regards to production machinery, cleaning station, cooling machines, electrode boiler and a lot of other things that is needed for production of porridge.
