New MEL Combined Boiler contract from VARD Brevik

PARAT Halvorsen AS as has been awarded a new contract with the Vard Brevik for their NB 757, a Platform Supply Vessel to Customer Island Offshore with head office in Ulsteinvik, Norway.

The 1250kW electric boiler will be delivered as a combined Hot Water & Steam Boiler. PARAT will deliver a complete boiler plant consisting of all necessary equipment for ORO tank heating. The plant will in daily operate as a hot water system to provide hot water for the central heating and domestic water system. If the ship is ordered into an oil recovery situation, the boiler will be re-mobilized to run as a steam boiler fulfilling all NOFO 2009 requirements.

The PARAT MEL-C Electric boiler design has become the most popular boiler among PSV ship builders, not only for the dual hot water/ steam system possibilities, but also versus oil fired boilers, due to its compact size, no need of fuel line system, no pipe stack, easy regulation, no noise and much less maintenance.

The PSV vessel is of Rolls-Royce UT 776 winterization design will be delivered to owner Island Offshore in February 2015.
