BKK Varme has chosen the PARAT Electrode Boiler

BKK Varme AS supplies Bergen, the second largest city in Norway, with district heating using a waste incinerator situated outside of the centre of the city. Peak load is supplied from heating plants based on oil, gas or electricity.

BKK Varme has chosen the PARAT Electrode Boiler

As the district heating grid in Bergen is under expansion, BKK Varme, aiming at improving reliability of delivery and at increasing production capacity accordingly, will establish a new peak load heating plant, with a 25 MW high voltage Electrode Boiler from Parat Halvorsen AS, in Dokken, close to the cruise ship terminal in the centre of Bergen.

The Electrode Boiler from PARAT will deliver 120°C (PN25) of heat to the grid in the centre of Bergen. The installation will be finalised and ready for operation by the end of 2015.

The Electrode Boiler is available as a steam boiler and as a warm water boiler with a maximum pressure of 30 bar. Our Electrode Boiler is based on our own design and has been manufactured and supplied from our factory in Norway for more than 25 years.

Our history as a supplier of boilers dates back to 1920. Since the beginning we have delivered more than 7,000 boilers to the Norwegian market only, and today we are the biggest supplier of boiler systems.
