Steam boiler module for winterization of drilling rig
PARAT Halvorsen has designed, produced and delivered a complete steam boiler module for the Hakuryu-5 drilling rig owned and operated by Japan Drilling Company.

The module consist of two PARAT MPV Vertical Oil-Fired Steam Boilers, each with a capacity of 3.000kg per hour along with feed water pumps, water treatment system and fuel arrangements. The module is ABS approved and has its own internal ventilation system and is fitted with an autonomous CO2 fire suppressant system.

PARAT is very proud to have been selected by JDC to supply this unit which was used to winterize the rig in order to perform drilling operations on the continental shelf of the Okhotsk Sea in Russia. 'In an email from JDC officials they confirmed that the drilling operation was a success and the boilers were operated continuously without problems.'
