Norway has always had an abundant supply of cheap electricity from the multiple hydro electric power plants installed in the mountains across the country – and therefore electric boilers was a natural component in any process plant that requires heat. For many years it was much cheaper to use electricity for heat generation than using oil or gas in fuel fired boilers.

This long experience has allowed us to develop an extensive range of electric boiler products and systems for Marine use. Anything from small calorifiers up to large superheated systems in the multi megawatt range can be supplied by PARAT.

The increasing focus on reducing global emissions from burning fossil fuels means that vessels will need an alternative heat source when in port, at anchor or sailing with reduced speeds. We have developed specialized packages where we efficiently attach customized electrical boilers to the existing steam system on any sailing vessel. Just ask – we will provide!
